Coping with the Death of a Loved One

"The Favorite" - Grandfather and Gra...

I know you all haven’t seen much of me lately and are probably wondering where my Getting Healthier in 2011 monthly posts are so that we can look at how my health goals looked last month and see what I’m planning for this month.

Unfortunately, I have been without Internet service for the past week as I traveled out-of-state for my late grandfather’s funeral.  I spent that time attending numerous events related to his passing, stayed in my grandmother’s home to be there for support and to help her around the house a bit (when she’d let me), going through our grandfather’s treasures and photos, and just dealing with my own mourning…which was put on the back burner mostly because I was trying to help my grandmother get through this.

Within the next few days, I hope to get back into a groove and post some more about my health, goals, and advocacy.  For now, though, I’m mourning and dealing with my emotions.  That’s taxing on its own, and I have no energy right now to write.  What little energy I have is going to take care of my children and the day-to-day grind.

Until then, please peruse my past articles and blog posts.  Tweet and share them on Facebook as well.  Thanks!
