Getting Healthier in 2011- April Health Goals

getting healthier by running and exercising

Running is a good way to exercise and get healthy

It’s now April, and time seriously flies.  I haven’t done much of my 2011 Health Goals, but I do feel myself getting healthier.  That’s what counts.

My nasal allergies have improved with my increased intake of water and regular use of my nasal spray – Nasonex.

Since last month I only spent about 2 weeks on my health goals because we were all miserably sick, I think I’ll just focus on continuing what we did last month.

  • Exercise 30 minutes per day at least 3 days per week,
  • Drink plenty of water – 9-8oz glasses per day,
  • Do what I can to reduce / avoid allergy symptoms during the Spring Allergy season,
  • Get more sleep to avoid tiredness, increase energy, and boost my mood,
  • Take a multi-vitamin at night, every night, and
  • See the dentist for a cleaning – it’s been over a year *sigh*.

Getting Healthier in 2011

My goal is to feel healthier since I have so many different chronic ailments that make me always sick and tired.  It’s frustrating, and it interferes with my life on a daily basis.  Also, since my mental health isn’t so great with my depression and anxiety, the constant stress of life plus my chronic illnesses make me more prone to catching viruses, making me miserable even more often.

I’m tired of feeling like this, and so I decided to take my health into my own hands and take some responsibility for it.  I expect to lose weight in addition to feeling better, although that’s not my motivation (most of the time, anyway…sometimes I look in the mirror and suck in my belly too…don’t we all?).  Weight loss will be a pleasant side effect of feeling better and having more energy.

In addition to my food allergy advice carnival (single edition, for now), I’m now starting a Getting Healthier in 2011 blog carnival that will be published each month.  Blog articles submitted will be published in a single article on Always Sick & Tired (this site) to share our 2011 Health Goals with each other and our progress so far.  This will not only help us all get more visitors to our blogs, but it will broaded our readership that can offer advice and learn from us as we all help each other get healthier this year.

Question:  What kind of progress have you made this year with your own health goals? Are you getting healthier?
